Ribeira Sacra Full Day Tour

Few places in Galicia attract as much attention while remaining quaint as Ribeira Sacra and Allariz. On this excursion from Santiago de Compostela you will be able to see this region’s terraced vineyards and religious heritage, which have earned it a World Heritage nomination.

Arriving at Santo Estevo de Ribas de Sil as our start point, you will board a beautiful catamaran to follow a route through the Sil canyons along the river that offers a view of the most inaccessible vineyards in the area. For an hour and a half we will navigate between the steep walls of the canyon and learn about wine production in the area.

After disembarking, we will visit the Cabezoás viewpoint, a towering granite mass 700 metres high that falls into the river at a drop of more than 400 metres. Then, a visit to the Monasterio de San Pedro de Rocas. You will see the façade of the 19th century church, its bell tower, and the San Benito fountain, the waters of which are said to be miraculous.

Lastly, we arrive at the charming town of Allariz for a fully guided tour. Allariz surprises visitors with its beautiful squares, churches and monuments, in harmony with an extraordinary natural environment considered a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
